February's Mom of the Month

Congratulations to Sara Noonan, our 'Mom of the Month' for February!

Sara and Reagan (and Jack when he's not in school) are regular faces at our Stroller Strides classes, having been members since the summer of 2012! Sara is our resident Disney guru, so if you are planning a trip, be sure to talk to her first! Sara is an extremely dedicated and HARD worker and is training for two 10K's this spring and her first half marathon in the fall! One of the 10K's is in Disney World, of course! Sara has made great strides in fitness, motherhood, and life, and we are so thankful that she is an integral part of our group!

Join us in congratulating Sara and read on to get to know her a little better!

Mom of the Month Questions:

Hometown (where you grew up): small town in southern NH, Pelham

Current part of the Triangle that you live in: Apex

Education: BS in Marketing and an Associates in Business Administration

Stroller Strides Member since: August 2012

Members of your Family: Husband Dan, son Jack, and daughter Reagan

Tell us about your children: Jack is my boy that has an old soul, passionate about swimming and riding his bike, loves making new friends and is my singing and dancing partner. Reagan is my girl that is passionate about life, she's cautious when starting something new but takes life by the reins and becomes fearless. She enjoys swimming and running with me. Together, they are two peas in a pod. Jack has taken on the caring big brother role and watches out for her and Reagan is very nurturing for Jack.

Current/previous Career: Prior to kids I was a Customer Support Specialist for a global manufacturing company. Now- I'm a Travel Consultant!

What was your childhood ambition? I was always fascinated with Marine Biology.

What does motherhood mean to you? Motherhood means everything to me. To be able to have children and see them grow (too fast sometimes) is magical. I appreciate every day I have with my kids and hope that I can be the best mother to them that they deserve. They have taught me so much about being a mother and also about who I am as a person. It wasn't until I became a mother that my life made sense.

What is the furthest you have been from home? Being from NH, I would say either Germany or Hawaii

What has Stroller Strides done for you (or meant to you)? Stroller Strides has made me stronger - physically and mentally. Each and every Mom has inspired me in some way. It's an amazing group, a Village I'm proud to be a part of.

What is your favorite exercise? Squats

What is your proudest moment? Other than giving birth, I feel the proudest when my I see my kids learn something new.

What are three of your favorite things (besides your family!)? Coffee, traveling and my camera

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us or makes you unique. I've moved 3 times in 3 states in 3 years! It's starting to feel like a hobby!

If we asked your spouse what they think your best qualities are, what would they say? Patience and sense of humor

What advice would you give to moms looking to get back into shape? Take one day at a time and don't give up on yourself! Ask for help/support if you need it. After having 2 c-sections myself, I know how hard (and uncomfortable) it can feel when exercising but it does get easier. Be kind to your body, be kind to your mind, be kind to your spirit!
